Hawker Hart II 'J9941' displayed at the R.A.F. Museum at Hendon

by John Hopton

The first of four variants of the Hart day-bomber built as experimental/company demonstrator machines, airframe HH.1 was registered as G-ABMR on 28 May 1931. Over the years it saw many changes to the airframe, and tested a wide range of engines, then in later life was used as a racing aircraft. After considerable rebuilding work was carried out, it was placed on display as ‘J9941’ at the R.A.F. Museum at Hendon on 09 April 2003.
